BIOS sandals,
cork footbed,
removable insole.
A broad selection of anatomical sandal models featuring a cork-and-latex footbed, a removable insole and a heel cup that supports the plantar arch.

An anatomical sandal is a wellness product, not a fashion one.
BIOS anatomical sandals are built around a contoured footbed that shifts load away from the forefoot, supports the medial plantar arch and wraps around the heel. They are the leading product in the worldwide retail category of "wellness footwear", as well as the gateway into the orthopedic and diabetic-friendly sub-segments. Our partners in Elche and Alicante have been making BIOS-type sandals since the 1990s.
What defines a BIOS sandal
Footbed: a cork-and-latex composite, thermoformed to a neutral arch profile (4 mm drop) and lined with soft suede or microfibre. Outsole: lightweight EVA or TR rubber.
Upper: leather, nubuck, microfibre or recycled synthetics. Adjustability is essential: double- or triple-buckle straps as standard, velcro on the retail-oriented variants.

Within the catalogue, the range spans the full spectrum, from summer sandals to closed footwear.
The comfort of a cork footbed.
The flagship line: more than 80 models. Cork-and-latex footbed, leather or nubuck upper, adjustable straps, EVA outsole.
Reinforced support, velcro.
Wider lasts, velcro fastenings, additional metatarsal cushioning. Suited to senior retail, podiatry and channels specialised in anatomical footwear.
Frequently asked questions about BIOS and anatomical sandals.
What does it mean for a sandal to be "BIO"?
The term "BIO" rests on two pillars: anatomy and sustainability. Our sandals feature an ergonomic footbed that follows the natural shape of the foot, and they are made from natural, renewable or recycled materials (such as natural cork and latex).
What are the benefits of anatomical sandals?
• Load distribution: they spread pressure across the whole foot, reducing heel and back pain.
• Plantar arch support: they hold the foot in its correct position and improve posture.
• Thermal insulation: natural cork insulates against heat from the ground and absorbs moisture.
What materials are they made from?
We use sustainably sourced natural cork for the midsole, latex for flexibility, and finishes in high-quality leather or eco-friendly microfibre (for our vegan line). The outsoles are generally made of lightweight EVA to cushion each step.
Do you offer vegan options?
Yes. We have a Cruelty-Free collection in which traditional leather is replaced with breathable synthetic fabrics, recycled microfibres and adhesives free of animal-derived components. Look for the "Vegan" label on the product sheet.
